Tropix

The Product

Tropix is a decentralized NFT marketplace on Ethereum blockchain, connecting artists and collectors for minting, buying, selling, and auctioning unique digital artworks via smart contracts. Key features include drops (limited releases), artist/gallerist profiles, wallet integration, peer-to-peer auctions, and automatic royalties on secondary sales.

The Problem

Artists struggled to monetize digital art securely amid counterfeiting and fragmented platforms, while collectors faced trust issues without blockchain provenance. Complex blockchain UX deterred mainstream adoption, limiting peer-to-peer trading and fair royalties in the growing NFT art market.

My Role

• Led end-to-end product design, from wireframes to high-fidelity prototypes
• Designed intuitive UIs for drops, auctions, wallet onboarding, and artist dashboards
• Conducted UX research including user personas, journey mapping, and usability testing
• Optimized user flows for enhanced engagement, focusing on seamless crypto payments and secondary market royalties

Outcomes

• Validated the relevance and urgency of the problem through user feedback and testing
• Confirmed that users understand the core value of the marketplace
• Identified usability gaps in key flows, leading to improvements in user feedback mechanisms
• Discovered the need for clearer confirmation messages when profiles are shared
